The Albany Kennel Club, Inc. of Albany, New York is an all-breed dog club, and a member club of the AKC.

 

Founded in 1942 to promote the sport of pure-bred dogs, our club colors are Red and White.  The Albany Kennel Club has evolved into a community based organization that also promotes responsible dog ownership, public education, and seeks to protect the rights of dog owners in our community.   We sponsor conformation show training classes and health clinics, as well as a responsible breeder locator service. 

 

The Albany Kennel Club may sometimes offer a show handling class or clinic where you can practice your stacking and gaiting skills or socialize that puppy.  Consult our calendar for more details on if and when this class or clinic is being offered.

 

The Albany Kennel Club offers an all-breed conformation, obedience, and rally match show on Mother’s Day each year. In addition, we hold our two well attended all-breed dog shows each year.  All events are open to the public and some offer free parking and free admission!

Our meetings are held on the first Tuesday of the month, except for January, February and August, when we break for winter and summer.  Meetings are open to the public and we often have a guest speaker or program planned.  Come to one of our meetings and see who we are and what we do – Refreshments are on us at regular meetings!!  June is our Awards Banquet.  Sometimes our meetings are held as outings so be sure to check the News Flash page for scheduling and updated location information.
